Join the global day of giving on Tuesday, December 2.
Oxfam New Zealand is delighted to be part of #GivingTuesday New Zealand, a first of its kind effort in Aotearoa that celebrates the gift of giving.
#GivingTuesday New Zealand is part of a global movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give to a good cause. It culminates with a global day of giving on December 2, 2014.
The #GivingTuesday movement was officially launched in the USA in 2012 as a new national day of giving. This year, the movement has gone global. In addition to New Zealand, #GivingTuesday is also taking place in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico and Australia, and more.
Gifts that keep on giving
Oxfam New Zealand is celebrating #GivingTuesday by showcasing Oxfam Unwrapped life-changing gifts that keep on giving.
Oxfam Unwrapped is a great way for New Zealanders to feel connected to the donations they give. Through Oxfam Unwrapped gifts, generous kiwis have enabled impoverished communities to access clean water, plant nutritional gardens, access better education and medical services though giving. Every gift has an impact on people living in poverty, it supports them to work their way towards a better future and each gift represents a real tool used by Oxfam staff to overcome the injustice of poverty.
